Happily Exhausted
So, the bad news is: my car won't start. But since the clock on the radio isn't on or working, I'm assuming it's just a dead battery. In all likelihood, my broken automatic door locks decided to run when they shouldn't be and ran the battery down. Dad and I are thinking when I go down to NB for my birthday we'll recharge my battery and just pull the fuses on those locks so they become manual.

The good news is I made like $300 today. I sold a pair of birds this morning with a complete take-home kit and a few extras that totaled to $100, then right before I left for the day I sold my first puppy! A family was in and looking at one of the older yorkshire terriers, but after a while decided to look again at one of the new puppies. They said they'd talk about it and left.

30 minutes later I see the dad and two of the kids poking around the hamster stuff. I figure, cool, they're getting a hamster instead. So I get their rodent and help them pick out a cage, food, bedding, etc. As I'm finishing that the dad is like "Oh, and we want to get the puppy too."

khdsslxl;

$15 hamster + cage, food, bedding
$1,900 puppy + $120 puppy take-home kit + collar, leash, extra toy, food, and bed

Yeah, around $2,500 right there, and the guy paid for it all right then and there, not even on credit. My arms were so \o/.

Meanwhile, I uploaded all my pictures from the [info]bitter_crimson visit and Leathermouth both. *_*

No, I don't know why some of these pictures are so hazy, I swear. )

FRANKIE LOVES BLAYNE AND WANTS HER TO BE HAPPY )

I also took some pictures of my Leathermouth hoodie to prove how amazing it is. I wore it to work today because I was so amused by walking into a pet store wearing a hoodie that says KILL EVERY LIVING THING IN SIGHT.

Tonight: Blayne. Duia. Jenny. Cody? Lindsey. Clare?

also, Leathermouth, Reggie and the Full Effect, and MC Chris.

I think we have settled on looking as ridic as possible and wearing dresses.

Jenny's hair no joke looks like the ryhawk.

I think I barely know what the hell is going on right now. [info]duia got into town yesterday. [info]bitter_crimson is supposed to be coming in today. I work 5-close again. Today is my grandfather's 88th birthday. I meant to send him a card, but I forgot, and now my mom says I should call him and I'm like... shit. Belated card? DNW to call my grandpa. Not that I don't appreciate him, just that he's deaf as a post AND we have nothing to talk about. So I'd be yelling awkwardly into the phone for 10 minutes like "No, I'm working at a pet store. PET STORE."

Saturday is [info]blondiusmaximus and LEATHAMOUF.

More importantly, Duia and I were watching ~Rock Fest~ on VH1 Classic a while ago and wound up realizing that a few years back we had both made the same disappointing discovery: there is no goddamn Aerosmith slash on the internets.

Hi, has the internet seen Joe Perry and Steven Tyler? Let me refresh your memories.

Small picspam )

Any questions? WHY DOES IT NOT EXIST? There's Beatles shippers goddamn everywhere, guys. God.

Stole from [info]liret because these are fun.

Step 1: Put your iTunes or equivalent on random.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 50 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Strike out the songs when someone guesses the titles and artists correctly and put the name of the song/who sings it and the username of the person who guessed it at the end of the lyric.
Step 4: Looking them up on google or any other search engine is cheating.

I included stuff that says the title in the first line, so enjoy the freebies.

Last night and this morning were some chill running around with [info]spiralstairs. :D I think she was surprised to find I was not drunk and insane, but I probably talked too much.

I tried on a $2000 dress and some $350 shoes that were adorable and then made sadfaces. We also got coffee and I bought some children's books.

Now I'm being a bum and dipping carrot sticks in a shot glass full of ranch dressing. House needs cleaning.

I love Gabe Saporta so much, you guys.

*_*

Only a few days left on the Cobra phone, so I think I might actually start trying to call it. I have no idea what to say, really, but I want to tell Gabe I think it's awesome that he really puts himself out there. ♥

HUSHCAB DAY UNO
wtf our lives

I can't even begin to recite the LJ names of everyone at the show tonight. Um. Me, Eryn, Jenny, Rachel, Cody, Shonna, Sunny, Lesa, Lindsey, Katie, Clare, Alyssa, Julia?, um... yeah. God.

All but three people at the Hush Sound VIP soundcheck were fangirls. And they soundchecked "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and Linda Rondstat's "Heatwave" *_* Greta also sang a bit of "Toxic" and said she wants to cover it.

The Morning Light was pretty good. I tend to think they're better, musically, than Steel Train, but that might be my personal preference for music styles. I bought their EP from their singer after the show and he was all heart-eyed over it.

Steel Train are adorably energetic, but I told Eryn they kind of remind me of going to see Harry and the Potters with their jewfros and guitar-slamming and seizures on stage.

WTF The Cab. Obv by now most people have heard their trailer got wrecked, so we got ~The Singer and Ian Acoustic Experience~. And they decided to take requests and play randoms instead of making a set list. So our set list was like...

Bye Bye Bye (soundcheck)
One of THOSE Nights
Vegas Skies
Hit Me Baby One More Time
Lights
I'll Be
I'll Run
Bounce
That 70's Song
I Kissed A Girl (just a bit... I don't believe you, Singer :/)
Tribute (Tenacious D)
Take My Hand

what the hell, boys? Also, I don't think Singer looked over at the other side of the stage once. He was always looking ahead or making faces over at the Texas Crew corner. gtfo, boy.

HUSHIES *_* were amazing. I could hardly see Greta cuz of a LAMP, but it was awesome. They did "You Really Got a Hold on Me" with Darren singing again and also covered "Back in the USSR" although I was annoyed to notice most of the kids around me didn't know the words to those. And they played a shit-ton of their own stuff of course. Bob came over and rocked Eryn and Jenny's faces off, and Ian came on for "Wine Red" and did likewise. Singer did Patrick's part for "Don't Wake Me Up". *_*

Overall, awesome show. A++++ The next two nights will hopefully be equally crazy. I'm trying really hard to make Singer and Ian play something from the EP tomorrow night.

Pictures and video when the tour ends for us!

I HAS A BACHELORS

at dinner, my mom was talking excitedly about how she and a bunch of her old lady friends bought tickets to some three day 60's and 70's rock festival and are going to go see a bunch of bands and dance and drink

I just turned to Jenny and Eryn and was like IT'S GENETIC.

I'm graduating, guys. In like... 5 hours. My mom called me and she is all freaked out and excited and practically crying (probably will cry later). I'm just like yep. Let's get this over with so I can get back to training for my new job and hanging out with my friends.

My first day of training was yesterday. The ASM let me hold the English Bulldog puppy for a while when we talked about puppy sales. Ugh guys she was so fat I had to use both arms and she fell asleep on me with her little wrinkled face. Now I have a ridiculous desire to own a $5,000 dog and I don't even care.

After a night of consuming lots of alcohol and making a slight ass of myself, I wake up to find an article about how Austin is the hardest-drinking city in America.

trufax, guys

Some random people sat at our table, and one of them bought us a round of shots. Tequila shots. ♥ I'm so warmed up for the week.

Help?
I don't know if anyone can help with this, but I'm trying to reach [info]mybabyangel. She's Australian, but she's in Texas at the moment working at a camp. I have a mobile number for her that should be correct, but when I call it I get an operator. I've tried every variation I can think of as far as country codes and such and no luck.

Last I heard she wanted to hit Austin on the 9th and stay with me for HushCab, but I haven't heard from her in a while and she doesn't know my address! I need to know if she needs to be picked up, give her my address, etc. :/

THE TOTAL FANDOM POST OF LOTS OF OPINIONS
So here is something sad: I came back from my time without internets to find that some of my favorite flisters, including fandom friends from several fandoms ago, had defriended me.

I am not normally one to get up in arms about defriendings because okay, we grew apart or we never grew together or you really powerfully disagree with me about something and feel you are better off getting out before you get angry at me.

But some of the people I lost are people I was once quite close to that I didn't ever think I had to worry about losing! And that makes me sad.

And I was thinking, and I thought that part of that is because people friend me for certain fandoms and then I tend to move on to new fandoms and not really talk much about the old ones. But I'm one of those kids where old obsessions never really die, they just fade into the background a bit more.

So, long story short, the purpose of this post is to say something about pretty much all of my fandoms to get some discussion going. And if you have something to say, we can have a conversation about it and it will be exciting!

Harry Potter

Re: Beedle the Bard: I don't know, guys. I just don't. I kind of feel like JK Rowling is stringing us along and, really, it just makes her seem like a one-trick pony. I mean, I'm sure she has pressure from her agent and Scholastic and such. Maybe she's going to them and saying "hey, so I have this great idea for a new novel" and they're going "That's great, but could you make it more like Harry Potter? And by that I mean maybe you should write more Harry Potter".

But a long time ago I remember her saying she wouldn't write any more Harry Potter unless it was for charity and she wanted to write crime novels.

JK Rowling, where are your crime novels? I want to see them. I want to see if you have grown as a writer and if you can write for adults. I am far more excited about that than I am about the idea of yet another companion book with none of the characters we grew to love in it.

tl;dr: Please do something new.

Supernatural

I didn't watch most of Season Three! I did spoiler myself for the end, though. I'm excited about the S3 DVD because A) gag reel is one of the best things about these every time and B) I can catch up in time for S4 because I do want to see what happens.

I kind of miss Jensen and Jared's faces, guys, though glancing at FW I'm glad I never got that hard into the fandom.

Vampire Chronicles

Someone at Borders put Christ the Lord in their "Summer Read" section. I saw it and laughed and thought how odd it is that I still haven't read it when I really meant to, if only for the lulz. I definitely need to go get a library card here in Austin so I can read trash for free.

Venture Brothers

I've missed the past couple weeks of episodes, but what I have seen of this season has been weird. Plenty of great moments, but it's a lot more serious and linear these days, isn't it? The weirdest episode for me was the Billy Quiz Boy episode. It was pretty much all exposition. They cleared up a lot of questions about Billy and Phantom Limb and I think I liked those questions better unanswered, really. I love the part in Victor Echo November where the various characters are giving their takes on how Phantom Limb lost his limbs and Billy lost his hand, like a game of supervillan telephone.

The X-Files

I definitely want to see the movie. In preparation (and because I was bored) I've been watching the only season I own, season one! I'm about halfway through, just after the Eve episode. Season one has a lot of episodes I haven't seen since they first aired, but that I have very fuzzy memories of from my childhood, like the two episodes with Tooms. I loved those. The first one stuck in my head really hard, but the second one I haven't seen in years and I can't wait to watch it. All I remember is that at one point he's under a mall escalator. I never forgot that shit.

Batman

HI THE MOVIE WAS REALLY AWESOME. I mean, Gordon was good and the Joker was good and Batman, but I expected all that. My biggest geekout moment came, honestly, when Gordon's wife told their son to go play with his sister. I AM A RIDICULOUS PERSON but luckily so is Eryn. We were both just sitting there going "OMG BARBARA. BARBARA GORDON." and it was beautiful.

This rumor about Johnny Depp doing the Riddler kind of scares me. Because I'm trying to picture his Riddler and I keep picturing his Willy Wonka, and I love Johnny but DNW.

August is a busy month for me.

Yesterday I had a job interview at the Waterloo Ice House down the street. It's not the one with the record store next door of course, but they do have live music sometimes. They liked me, so today I have part 2 of the interview.

Today I need to do laundry. Tomorrow I'm going to try this trendy salon uptown to get a haircut because it is seriously necessary now. My hair's almost down to my shoulders, my bangs are reaching my eyes, and I already trimmed them myself once even though I know that is never a good idea.

Also my schedule for August is ridic.

Aug. 8: Graduation
Aug. 9: [info]mybabyangel hits Austin, and also [info]thousandjulys
Aug. 10: HushCab in Austin
Aug. 11: HushCab in Dallas
Aug. 12: HushCab in Houston
Aug. 22: [info]bitter_crimson arrives! Possibly a housewarming party!
Aug. 23: Leathermouth in Austin (lololol)
Aug. 26: Tom Petty in San Antonio (my birthday gift from my parents)
Aug. 29: Possible Ludo in Houston
Aug. 31: Ludo in Austin

It's weird because I only have ONE show planned so far for September, nothing for October, and probably like FIVE for November already.

Everything happens at once.

Still doing the coffee shop update thing right now, but finally got in contact with the cable company, so our apartment will be wired come Thursday. \o/

This weekend was kinda awesome. Thursday, [info]ninepointfivemm got to Austin. She came over to our place and we went out for a couple drinks at Side Bar just for the hell of it, though not much drinking happened.

Friday we could has a [info]duia. So we (the Duia, moi, and Eryn) went down to San Antonio and saw Journey, Heart, and Cheap Trick in concert. *_* Though actually we missed all of Cheap Trick's set. lol Journey's new singer is so TINY and ENTHUSED. And I bought a red Heart tank that says "Crazy On You".

Yesterday, I found my way to the home of [info]rainy_day for her big "welcome back to the states" barbecue party, at which I got more time with Jessi and also got to hang out with various of Brenna's friends who I also hadn't seen in the entire time Banana-sensei has been in Japan. XD

Then back to Duia and Eryn to watch some episodes of Weeds and attempt a night on the town, but we are old ladies and were far too tired.

Fangirl Night Out last night: me, Eryn, [info]inmyriadbits, [info]clare_san, [info]thousandjulys, and [info]sunn_doyouknow.

Went out to Side Bar for drinking, then to the home of Asshole Drummer Mason Musso. XD Where we discovered that his iTunes included not only Metro Station, but THE CAB.

ADMM: Hell yeah! Put on "Risky Business"! *sings along*
Eryn: Oh god we are DONE
Everyone else: lolololololol *awkward*

Still No Internets. Send moar booze.
Bad: Not having the necessary parts to run your stove, and having a leaky bathroom with water damage on the wall.

Good: Having a maintenece guy who shows up pretty promptly after your request and fixes EVERYTHING.

Embarassing: When letting the maintenece guy in, having to wake up and crawl off of the air mattress you are sharing with your room mate on the living room floor.
